The official and main language of England is English and nobody can argue with it. The short and brief exploration is shown here. English has its name by Angles which were one of Germanic tribes. English history has many episodes and interesting events like Norman Conquest in 1066 BC and suppression of English to its oral form and there is some fact that language is a product of people’s generations. And a target of this article is to demonstrate language without very careful excavations in its history. English has traits of Latin, Romance and French languages, which can be traced in modern English of the present days.
English is almost common language of over the world perhaps its grammar structure. It doesn’t use complex notions and conceptions unlike any other languages as Arabic and languages of Chine. It has some simple and understandable structure without cases but its literature part is very hard because there are many generalized notions.
A brief exposition and observation of English as the European language, which is shown here.
The first moment that is shown in English are its sounds because the investigation of its grammar isn’t shown here because English was formed in the past as a colloquial language. And they created the same process. Because of it, the needless to observe English sounds is here.
|Labial||Dental||Alveolar||Post — alveolar||Palatal||Velar||Glottal|
|Stop||p, b||t, d||k, g|
|Fricative||f, v||θ, ð||s, z||ʃ, ʒ||h|
This table is represented the English sounds. The careful observation is shown below. There is no necessity to talk about the Labial, Dental and any other groups of the sounds but this table shows some two of English sounds. The first is that six sounds are stop sounds and the next moment is that nine sounds are Fricative. What are they if they are the base of English?
- Fricative sounds are consonant which always produces by the exhalation air through a narrow channel between two lips. Both of the lips are beside one another.
- Stop sounds similar to the Fricative sounds but they are consonants, which produce by lips that blocks an airflow, and tongue can help them by forming of main sounds. But sometimes tongue doesn’t use in this type of consonants.
Both of the ways are similar one to another. Some trait that unified these two ways, lips are beside one another. Or close air channel.
The Fricative English sounds occupy 37.5% of all sounds and Stop sounds take 25%. Both of them are more than a half of English sounds, which means that the 60 percent of all sounds are Stop (Plosive) and Affricative sounds.
